QuTS hero h5.2Beta
The ultimate support for enterprise IT

QuTS hero NAS allows you to efficiently store and manage critical business data. QuTS hero h5.2 demonstrates exceptional SMB transmission performance for enhancing application efficiency. Paired with the upgraded Security Center, it actively monitors file activities to safeguard the NAS from ransomware threats.

SMB Transmission

Faster access speed, better system performance.

Kernel Mode SMB Daemon acceleration technology

In high-speed SMB transmission environments, QuTS hero h5.2 can utilize the CPU's Kernel Mode to accelerate transfers while maintaining the necessary User Mode for other SMB functions. In Kernel Mode, the operating system can efficiently apply and coordinate hardware resources.

By utilizing Kernel Mode SMB Daemon, you can further enhance SMB transmission performance, especially in an all-flash storage architecture where performance improvements are even more noticeable. Coupled with enabling SMB Multichannel, performance takes another leap forward!

System & Data Security

Exponentially strengthen data safety with proactive defenses and security updates.

Security Center safeguards against ransomware threats

Security Center employs proactive data security measures to continuously monitor file activities. Upon detecting significant changes in file activities on the NAS, the system promptly takes protective actions (protection/backup/interruption) to minimize the risks and damages associated with threats such as ransomware, attacks, or data loss due to human factors. Supports SED with new TCG-Ruby standard

In addition to TCG-OPAL and TCG-Enterprise protocols, QuTS hero h5.2 introduces support for TCG-Ruby Self Encrypting Drives (SED). TCG-Ruby provides specifications for NVMe and other modern storage technologies, aligning more closely with current enterprise and data center requirements, and facilitating compliance with regulatory standards (such as GDPR, HIPAA, and HITECH). SED utilizes a built-in encryption processor to encrypt data for the entire drive, adding an extra layer of protection for information security.

Supports SED with new TCG-Ruby standard
  • Supports OpenSSL LTS 3.0.9

Long-term support version. Ensures the security of network communication.

  • Supports IEEE 802.1X

Enables the NAS to access the network through 802.1X authentication in a secure environment.

  • Implements AppArmor

Enhances system security to mitigate security threats from both internal and external sources.

Management Efficiency

Optimize the steps and processes for operation, configuration, and management –more convenient and efficient.

Backup/restore NAS system configuration with greater flexibility (Coming soon)

If you need to transfer the system settings of an existing NAS to another NAS, or if you have multiple NAS units that require the same system settings, you can perform system configuration backup and restoration in the QuTS hero Console.

  • BEFORE

    Back up system configuration:

A BIN file is generated and downloaded to your computer. The actual backup details are kept undisclosed.

    Restore system configuration:
    • Restore using the BIN file.
    • The destination NAS must be the same model and have the same QuTS hero version as the backup NAS.
  • NOW

    Back up system configuration:
    • Backup content details, including system, network, and privilege settings, are provided.
    • You can encrypt the backup file.
    Restore system configuration:
    • Perform selective restoration for specific items (such as permission settings, network configuration, and more).
    • The destination NAS can be a different model and have different QuTS hero version than the backup NAS*.
