CAYIN MediaSign Player
Transform your NAS into a Media Player

Easily play and transcode NAS media files for optimal multimedia enjoyment.

Offline Transcoding for NAS files

CAYIN MediaSign Player enables your QNAP NAS to support mainstream image and video formats, including HEIF/ HEVC (H.265), and video transcoding. CAYIN MediaSign Player greatly increases the multimedia formats supported by your QNAP NAS, allowing you to enjoy your movies, music, and photos and to easily transcode files to the MP4 (H.264 / H.265) format.

Supports HEIF/ HEVC file formats

HEIF/ HEVC formats are the current mainstream image and video formats on mobile devices and feature better compression than standard JPEG and H.264 formats. You can upload your mobile photos/videos in HEIF/ HEVC formats to your QNAP NAS and transcode HEVC files to MP4 (H.264 / H.265 codec) with CAYIN MediaSign Player’s Plus license plan. Then coupled with a range of other multimedia apps (including Video Station, File Station and QuMagie) you can enjoy all your NAS-based photos, music, and videos.

FAQ

Playing videos using on-the-fly transcoding requires a GPU. If your NAS does not have a GPU this function will be unavailable.

MediaSign Player only supports videos up to 1080p when using on-the-fly transcoding. Videos with resolutions higher than 1080p should first be manually transcoded to 1080p for on-the-fly transcoding.

The video may have the rotate attribute. You can check for this attribute in the EXIF of the video file. On-the-fly transcoding forces the video to rotate and remove the rotate attribute, which causes high CPU usage, before it processes on-the-fly transcoding. You should manually transcode videos which have the rotate attribute.
